When Does Highguard Ranked Mode Release?

Highguard launched on January 26, 2026 without a competitive ranked mode. Wildlight Entertainment made this decision intentionally to observe launch balance and matchmaking before implementing a competitive ruleset. According to the official 2026 roadmap, Highguard ranked mode will arrive in Episode 2, Part 1, scheduled for February 2026.

Episode 2 will also introduce a new playable Warden, a new map, and a new mount type alongside ranked mode. This Highguard ranked guide will help you prepare so you can start climbing immediately when the competitive playlist goes live.

How Highguard Ranked Mode Works

Highguard ranked mode uses the same core gameplay as standard matches: 3v3 teams with one copy of each Warden per team. The key difference is skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) that attempts to pair players of similar skill levels, creating more competitive and balanced matches.

Unlike solo-focused shooters, Highguard ranked emphasizes team coordination, strategy, and objective control over individual fragging. Your rank in Highguard will reflect your ability to work with teammates, make smart decisions during each phase, and contribute to team victories.

Highguard Ranked Climbing Tips

Ready to climb the Highguard ranked ladder? These tips from experienced competitive players will help you reach your desired rank faster and more consistently.

1
Master 2-3 Wardens

Dont try to play every Warden. Focus on mastering 2-3 that fit different team compositions so you can always contribute effectively in Highguard ranked.

2
Communication is Key

Use voice chat or the ping system constantly. In Highguard ranked, teams that communicate win more often than mechanically skilled but silent teams.

3
Learn the Meta

Study our tier lists and team composition guides. Knowing which Wardens and weapons are strong gives you an edge in Highguard ranked.

4
Focus on Consistency

Avoid tilting after losses. Take breaks when frustrated. Consistent, focused play over many games is how you climb in Highguard ranked.

5
Review Your Games

After losses, think about what went wrong. Could you have positioned better? Built smarter? Made different ability choices? Learn from every Highguard ranked match.

6
Play with a Team

If possible, find regular teammates to queue with. Coordinated teams have a massive advantage over solo players in Highguard ranked.

7
Warm Up First

Play 1-2 casual games before jumping into Highguard ranked. Make sure your aim and game sense are sharp.

8
Prioritize Objectives

In Highguard ranked, destroying the generator wins games — not having the most kills. Always focus on the objective.
